Need to add a terms and conditions question to your registration form? This can be done by creating a new checkbox question and setting it to required and then adding it a new custom question group.
Check out the steps below.
Part 1 – Create a terms and conditions page
Login to your WordPress dashboard (WP-admin) and go to Pages and click on Add New. Now enter a title for your page such as Terms and Conditions and then type out your terms and conditions in the content area and publish the page.
Now view the page and double-check that there are no typos and your information is correct. If you are unsure, then consult with an attorney.
Part 2 – Connect your terms and conditions page to Event Espresso
Now that you have a terms and conditions page, you can link it to Event Espresso so it is available as part of your registration form.
Open a new browser tab for your WordPress dashboard (WP-admin) and go to Event Espresso –> Registration Form. Then click on Add New Question which appears towards the top of the screen. You’ll now be viewing the questions editor and you can begin entering information. See below for examples:
Question Name = Terms and Conditions
Question Type = Checkboxes
Answer Option Value = I accept the terms and conditions
Answer Option Description = See sample HTML link code below and be sure to update the example link to your own terms and conditions page
Then save changes to the new question and return to the Questions overview screen.
Now it is time to create a custom question group and assign the terms and conditions question to this new question group.
From the Questions overview screen, go to Question Groups and then click on Add New Question Group. Enter a name such as Terms and Conditions and set Show Name to No and Show Description to No. Now look on the right area of the page for the Questions area and place a checkmark in the Terms and Conditions question and save changes.
From here, you can go to your event editor through Event Espresso –> Events and click on your event. Then scroll down and look for the Primary Registrant Questions Group and click to select the Terms and Conditions question group and save changes to your event.
You should enable the terms and conditions question for any other events through the event editor and save changes.
Notes: A custom question group was created so that the terms and conditions question appears once per registration form. If the terms and conditions question was created and enabled on an existing system question group such as the personal question group, then this question would be requested for each registrant/attendee that is registering for an event.
